The 18th Chinese National Congress on Catalysis (18th NCC) has just been held in Tianjin, from October 16 to 20, 2017. The theme of this congress is “Catalytic science and technology in sustainable environment, energy and economical development” .
Ten representatives from our group participated in this Congress. Prof. Wang was invited to give a plenary lecture with a theme a "New routes for C1 chemistry beyond Fischer--Tropsch synthesis" in the first day. Prof. Wang introduced our recent advances in syngas conversion, including syngas to liquid fuels, syngas to lower olefins and syngas to aromatics. These works have already attracted much research attentions in catalysis community. Dr. Deng was invited to present our recent progresses on catalytic conversion of cellulose to organic acids. Many graduates from our group also joined this congress, and enjoyed this scientific feast.
