The 19th National Congress on Catalysis of China (19th NCC) has just been held in Chongqing on 13-17 October 2019. The theme of this congress is “New era of catalysis”. The 19th NCC featured the crucial roles of catalysis science and technology in new energy resources (e.g. solar and sustainable energy), efficient utilization of fossil and biomass resources, and abating/eliminating pollutant emission to the environment. The congress also opened to the international catalysis community and welcomed participants from all over the world. More than 3,000 people attended this congress.

Thirteen representatives from our group participated in this congress. Prof. Wang was invited to be one of the moderators of the Plenary Session. Dr. Xie was awarded the “China Catalysis Award for Rising Star” and invited to give an oral presentation on “C1 molecules activation and C−C coupling to ethylene glycol”. Dr. Kang had an Invited Presentation on “Highly selective conversion of syngas to C2+ oxygenated compounds”. Besides, five students of our group, Shun He, Haikun Zhang, Wangyang Wang, Haiyan Song, Haoren Yin, gave brilliant oral presentations. Some graduates from our group also joined this congress, and enjoyed this scientific feast.
